Consultation in Colombia
In the week from the 1st until the 7 of July, a consultation took place in Tierra Alta, Colombia, with eight reading groups that are involved in a project around impunity, initiated by the Dutch NGO Solidaridad.
Within this project, 20 groups from Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua read the same text (Luke 18, The Parable of the Persistent Widow). Most groups are in the second or third phase of the process. A lot of empirical material (reading reports) has been produced by these groups. Three involved scientist from Colombia attended the consultation as well as one from Peru, one from Guatemala and one from El Salvador. Two participants from the Netherlands were present. The consultation showed how fruitful the method of intercultural bible reading can be for groups which are confronted with the violation of human rights on a daily basis. The project will come to an end in the upcoming months. Soon after, a Spanish publication about this project will appear.

New groups
The first group from the Dominican Republic was registered on our website in the beginning of July. This group will be reading the story of Ruth with a group migrants from Haiti in the Dominican Republic. This month, also a group of women in Indonesia will start the process of reading. Over the last couple of years, Rev. Paulien Matze, La Paz, Bolivia, has facilitated 20 groups that all have finished the process entirely. These groups were mainly Bolivian groups that were linked with Dutch partner groups. These groups will be registered on our website on a short notice and also the reading reports will become available.
